Granddaddy Frick
A Family Adventure . . . Granddaddy Frick
The Frick, more lovingly called “Granddaddy” was brought home from Parkersburg, WV in 1986 by Mark Mull. He was helped by friends Bill Mort and Bill Kennedy, who loaned his low boy trailer to haul it home. The engine was hauled over 166 miles to its new home in New Centerville, PA

The family made it happen!
Once home, the real work began! A restoration party was held and all the friends and family gathered together to get Granddaddy into working order. Mark’s late Grandpap, Everett Snyder, helped with financial aid. His Father-in-law Carl Nickelson Jr. built the roof and his brother-in-law, Carl Nickelson III, completed all the welding. Friends Dave Weyand, Clark Brocht, and Bill Mort helped with the completion of the project as well; Dave and Clark completed plumbing and Bill put in countless hours of labor.
It’s Jubilee Time
Granddaddy Frick was completed in 1987 at the New Centerville Jubilee grounds. As if the Frick ready for the Jubilee wasn’t reason enough to celebrate, Mark and Michelle’s son, Joshua, was born! The newest little engineer addition was just the start of Granddaddy’s full roster future. The next junior engineer was their second son Matthew. The family crew ran Granddaddy Frick in many Jubilee celebrations. The family still continues to grow, adding Mark and Michelle’s grandchildren to the list of engineers! If you ever see the engine at the Jubilee, you will see many different faces operating it!
