The Chickentown Gas and Steam Show happens every year on Memorial Day weekend, May 24 & 25. This year (2025) the show will be held at 3054 Kingwood Road, Rockwood PA 15557. Come by and support some Small Town Steam folks!
The Legend of Chickentown
The Annual Chickentown Gas & Steam Show started as a small gathering of friends that loved to picnic while showcasing their antique equipment in the early 90’s and led to an official start in 1993.
Then annual Memorial Day gathering led to the development of the Chickentown Gas & Steam Association which continues to put on a laid-back community show where private owners show their Steam Engines, Tractors, and Hit & Miss Engines.
The Chickentown Gas & Steam Show was previously located at the Hemminger and Slope properties where the festival was held 31 years, minus 2020 and 2024.
The Show has moved to the Jubilee grounds in New Centerville in 2025 to begin its new chapter; where old traditions will meet new experiences.

Chickentown Continuation
Keeping the Show going takes a lot of effort! This tight-knit community works to put on a great show. Their goal of keeping the show free to enter means open access to all ages and families.

Introducing:
QR Codes with Steam Engines
For the first time ever, we are introducing QR Codes at the Chickentown Gas and Steam Show!
Small Town Steam is working to bring two worlds together in the name of preservation.
The QR Code idea came to us as a way to introduce a simpler way to share information. Steam engines are loud, and for some, very intimidating. By having a banner with a QR code, show-goers that aren’t able to get close enough to the engines are still able to learn some information from the engineers themselves!
